Vatican Sides With Rapists - Again

So once again, the Vatican - home of all that is holy - has reiterated that it is not in favor of abortion even in the case of rape. Yeah, shocker of all shockers, I know.

I've written about assholes who want to restrict women's rights to choose in the case of rape before and I think I made my point. Cardinal Renato Martino is a fucking doctor of douchebaggery who needs to suffer the fate I described in my post, fetus tattoo and all. The misogyny of religion shines through bright and burning in his recent statement where he says that abortion is murder...:
And to justify it selectively, in the event of rape, that is to define an innocent child in the belly of its mother as an enemy, as 'something one can destroy'
Yeah, the collection of cells that has the potential to become the spawn of some fucking jerkoff criminal rapist is "an innocent child" that deserves to become a constant reminder of violent crime, a physical reminder for the rest of a woman's life that she was violated in a fucking alley that she was dragged into by her hair, screaming. Nice attitude, churchies.

To make it just that much worse, not that it could get much worse than that scenario, the religious asshats at the Vatican have now urged Catholics world-wide to stop donating time and money to Amnesty International because of their support of women's rights. Here's the quote from Amnesty's deputy Secretary General Kate Gilmore:
We are saying broadly that to criminalise women's management of their sexual reproductive right is the wrong answer...The Catholic Church, through a misrepresented account of our position on selective aspects of abortion, is placing in peril work on human rights.
Good on her. Call those dickheads out on misrepresenting your position and then let them go back to wearing their dresses, blowing ten year-old altar boys, and condemning homosexuality.

It is for reasons like this that I can honestly say that I want religion to go away forever. Just die out and leave us alone. Seriously, take the Pope and his Cardinals and his Bishops and whatever other little-boy nicknames they want to bestow on people and fuck off.

I for one would not be a very happy person knowing I came from a rapist. I'm sure there are other people who might disagree. But man! Can't they leave people alone? I would be judged accordingly by god, right, if I got an abortion. What business is it of theirs? And why should they be worried anyway, according to religious people, innocents will get into heaven, right?

Right, seeing as they arbitrarily eliminated Limbo, which is where hundreds of thousands of people thought their children went when they died. How's that for a kick in the stomach if you're a believer?

Any religion with an administration like the Vatican is a crock. I'm sorry, but a few people getting together to decide what everyone believes... no, that's laughable. How can catholics put up with that?

Anyway, this particular case is an abomination! It shows how black and white Christianity (and other judeo-christian religions) consider their views. It's sad really.

All it would take is for these shit weasels to get a good old fashioned country ass-raping and they would quickly change their tune. We also must remember that emotionally scarred people are more likely to seek the church and it's happy horseshit.

Notice of course that it's all MEN making these rules. Since they have forbidden women from entering their vatican little boys-club. Men who can't possibly imagine what it would be like to be raped and then carry the result of that for nine months, give painful and risky (throughout most of the world where medical care is sub-par) childbirth, and then be responsible for caring for it the rest of your life (or I guess orphanages are ok too). A bunch of men in funny hats ruling on high dare to tell these women that aborting it while it's still a mass of cells is wrong? Idiots. Well, I guess it's better than the religeons where they find out a woman has been raped and then stone her to death...

It's pretty clear that they have to condemn abortion in the case of rape, given that they define life to start at the moment of conception. Any other position would be inconsitent with that definition - why should a life be worth less dependent on how it was conceived?

Of course their whole life definition is a bunch of crap, but you do at least have to give it to them that they are consistent in that point.

Yeah, it's better than stoning women to death, and yes they are at least consistent in their position. I refuse to give points, however to anyone who's best achievement is NOT stoning people or who hold a consistent yet completely fucking handicapped opinion.

Just what I think.
