Maybe a Genetic Cause for Autism

How much money do you want to bet that anti-vax douchebags Jenny McCarthy and her retarded boyfriend Jim Carrey won't ever mention this article in their little Kill the Children tours? I'd bet a lot.
Researchers have found that many people with autism share common genetic variations, a discovery that may improve diagnosis and offers the promise of developing treatments for the frustratingly mysterious disorder.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the treatments these folks are talking about have nothing to do with a "mommy instinct". Just a hunch. Check this out:
...most autistic people examined have a genetic variation in a portion of their DNA that affects the way brain cells connect with one another.... Both reports add weight to the idea that autism is related to problems with the way brain cells connect.
So it's not vaccines, then? No? Right. I love this bit:
Up to now, the medical community could say very little about what causes autism or how to treat it. The lack of scientific knowledge about autism has led to a proliferation of pseudoscientific explanations for the disorder, as well as unproven treatments. (my highlighting)
Psst...Jenny...he's talking to you...douchebag.

It doesn't much matter. Were the scientific community to prove beyond any doubt that autism is entirely genetic in origin, these idiots would most certainly drop their claim in favour of some other. They would just start saying that (say) MS is caused by vaccines, and would never mention autism again.

Idiots.

Ummmm...have you ever actually listened to Jim and Jenny's argument and not just spew back media headlines? They've never claimed that vaccines cause autism. They claim that vaccines TRIGGER autism in certain children that have a genetic disposition toward autism. So yeah, they agree 100% that certain children are genetically disposed to Autism. Oh and that study was run by Paul Offit, who owns the patent on the Rotavirus vaccine. So I'm sure there's no bias there whatsoever...

Ummm...I find it hilarious that you accuse me of "spewing back media headlines". Hilarious. "Jenny and Jim", as you so fondly refer to them, spew back "arguments" so fucking handicapped that it's amazing they show up to rallies fully dressed. Carrey, in his recent HuffPo screed, actually raised the old, tired, thoroughly dismantled "toxins" gambit wherein he talked about formaldehyde.

Do they say that vaccines cause autism? Perhaps not explicitly. The implication, however, is that you should not vaccinate your kids and they use fucking scare tactics of the worst kind to achieve their goal...which, ultimately, is to reduce herd immunity and harm children. Oh, and kill some too.

Take your weak-ass arguments and sarcasm elsewhere, "Screw". Your bullshit will only get you fucked up around here.

Oh. Right.

They don't claim that vaccines cause autism. They merely claim that vaccines trigger it.

The evidence is the same in either case - nil, nada, zilch.

If I claim that Jim and Jenny are not actually reptilian kitten-eaters, but merely trigger reptilian beings to eat kittens, do you then get my point?

My bias: I am an autistic person who is sick of listening to morons using me as a means to foist their own pet phobias upon the public. It pisses me off. If you have positive evidence, show it. Otherwise, fuck off.

Watched 5 minutes of 3ABN this morning. Almost puked. Spending any time with these self righteous fools is torture. This morning the remnant church teachers declared that non Adventists "cherry pick" verses from holy writ to support doctrine. I laughed and then felt ill. You look really black today, Mr. Kettle.
Oh yeah, she was a racist as well. Men had sex with animals and "created" many races of men and some of those races should have their own seperate fellowship buildings. They are influenced by spirits that are not Holy. Deceptive and self righteous people that will take millions to Hell with them. They better be correct that Hell is not eternal.
