South Park Creators Threatened

Matt Stone and Trey Parker, creators of the animated South Park series, were no-so-subtly threatened with the same fate as Dutch film-maker Theo van Gogh recently for daring to depict the Prophet Muhammed in their show. The threat was from a group known as Revolution Muslim, who seem to have had so much traffic to their website that it crashed. Way to go, fellas.

The best line, if I may refer to it as such, is this:

"It's not a threat, but it really is a likely outcome," al Amrikee said, referring to the possibility that Parker and Stone could be murdered for mocking Muhammad. "They're going to be basically on a list in the back of the minds of a large number of Muslims. It's just the reality."

I would bank on this clownshoe retard being impotent in several ways, so I doubt very much that he would personally assault Stone or Parker, but on Twitter, al Amrikee goes by his own name and as the alias "MujahidBlog", where he wrote the following on April 15th:

May Allah kill Matt Stone and Trey Parker and burn them in Hell for all eternity. They insult our prophets Muhammad, Jesus, and Moses...

Nice, eh? It's these dumbasses who really make the moderate, rational Muslims look bad. Speaking of those Muslims, why the hell aren't they yelling at these extremist fuckwits to shut their unkempt-bearded faces?

Anyone remember when South Park showed an episode where a statue of the Virgin Mary shot blood out of her asshole? Onto the Pope? Anyone? Sure, Catholics loudly said that it was disrespectful (which it was) and got the episode banned in the U.S. (which is stupid to the highest degree - free speech, anyone?). There were, to my knowledge, no death threats at all.

What about when South Park took on Scientology? Protests by the weirdo Xenu-lovers happened and even Issac Hayes left the show because of it (for which his character, Chef, was brutally killed). No death threats, however.

Atheists felt the sting of Stone's and Parker's wit as well, but there was only chuckling and, at worst, a hurt feeling by a couple of pansy non-believers.

Now though, when it's just Islam's turn to be made fun of, all of a sudden it's, "they might die in the streets for mocking our Prophet". Oh, that would be your Pedophile Prophet, by the way. The guy who married a six year old girl and waited until she was nine to "consummate" the marriage. What a great role model.

So to stand abreast with the free-speech-loving, won't-be-intimidated, you-don't-have-the-right-to-not-be-offended likes of South Park and the humerous celeb website What Would Tyler Durden Do, I repost the picture from the latter's post on the subject below. I know the moderate Muslims will take a joke and go about their business like normal humans, perhaps slightly insulted, but no worse for wear. The small minority of vocal fuckwits like the Revolution Muslim dipshits, however, can fuck right off and suck it.

P.S. Muhammed is in a fucking bear suit. What I mean is, there is no difference between what South Park did and showing a curtain and saying, "The Prophet Muhammed is behind this curtain!" Either way you don't see him, so it's not really depicting him in any meaningful manner. ...not that that means anything to a bunch of psychos who want to kill people over a cartoon.

James Randi at TED

Here is James Randi's talk from the TED conference. It's good and I very much enjoyed the homeopathic "suicide" bit, I just wish he had moved from laughing at it into a more serious, "Ok, here's why we should stop laughing". Maybe he could have told the story of Gloria whose parents treated her eczema with homeopathy resulting in her death at nine months after what amounts to torture, best intentions or not. If more people realize why homeopathy and most of "alt." medicine is horse-shit, perhaps Gloria's death will be slightly less pointless and tragic. Slightly.

Simon Singh by KO

Today, Simon Singh won his libel case brought against him by the British Chiropractic Association (aka: NAMBLA). The pertinant part of the decision reads as follows:

Having carefully considered its position in the light of the judgment of the Court of Appeal (1st April 2010), the British Chiropractic Association (BCA) has decided to discontinue its libel action against Simon Singh.

Boom. Enjoy that. Congratulations to Dr. Singh and please let this stand as a lesson to all - there's no evidence to suggest that chiropractic is anything more than a pseudoscience.

Oh, and to touch on World Homeopathy Awareness Week, I'll just say that it's demonstrably stupid and has no effect whatsoever. Stupid. Retarded. Just dumb to the point of being as intelligent as a shoe-box of kalamata olives.

At least olives are delicious in a salad.
